@juicemeOK, seems that channel mode was changed to invite/moderated due to netsplit (or my regainig it after split)20:22
@juicemeI hope it's correct now. Sorry for the inconvinience...20:22

ToAruShiroiNekoI think this is where I should ask20:58
ToAruShiroiNekoso I am trying to get my phone to not display the annoying warning message and instead display a menu so I can choose my OS21:01
ToAruShiroiNekoI already have dual boot installed :/21:02
@juicemeok.21:10
@juicemeThe annouying menu, is I guess the open-mode warning?21:10
@juicemealso called the "big scary warning"21:10
@juicemeunfortunately to get away from that, you need first reflash your device to closed mode. It's only possible to remove in closed mode, before triggering open mode :(21:11
ToAruShiroiNekoI want to completely format this thing21:53
ToAruShiroiNekoI am currently forced to retype every password every time I boot to meegp which barely runs due to its ridiclous speed21:54
ToAruShiroiNekodocumentation is very complex and I am completely lost21:54
ToAruShiroiNekowhat exactly should I do?21:54
@juicemeWell, there are quite a few threads about that on TMO, but here's a quick guide wha to do.22:05
@juiceme1.) backup your stuff, if not done that yet22:05
@juiceme2.) flash the latest Harmattan release.22:06
@juiceme3.) install developer mode to get console22:06
@juiceme4.) do "disclaimer-cal remove View-openmode"22:08
@juiceme5.) flash open mode, or actually the best thing to do is reflash Harmattan again, and then flash openmode kernel before the device boots. If you do it this way, you don't need to remove the aegis repositories as everything will be set up to open mode right from the start22:10
@juiceme6.) install the OS'es you need (Nemo, Nitdroid, whatever)22:11
@juiceme7.) install ubiboot22:11

@juicemehiya :)22:46
ToAruShiroiNekojuiceme alright22:49
ToAruShiroiNekoso what do I type to flash the last harmattan release?22:49
ToAruShiroiNekois this the 1.3 gb file?22:50
@juicemeThere are 2 files, emmc and rootfs22:51
ToAruShiroiNekocould you link me to them22:51
@juicemesee the thread "[HOWTO] Comprehensive Firmware Flashing Guide for N9" on TMO22:51
ToAruShiroiNekoI realise I am making you do my own research but I am very afraid of bricking it :(22:52
@juicemehttp://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=8269322:52
@juicemeWell I can telly you one thing, bricking wit flasher is not very likely22:52
ToAruShiroiNekother e is 001 europe (1) and 009 europe (2)22:52
@juicemeWhat I'd do is use the lowest number that's possible with my device.22:54
@juicemebecause you cannot go back, ever. If you flash forex. PR1.3 -009 you cannot _ever_ flash PR1.3 -001 again22:55
Jonniheh never say ever, but yes, officially you cannot go back :)22:55
thedead1440even unofficially can you flash back from 003 to 001 without having to flash 003's cmt?22:56
Jonnithedead1440: well I can go back even from pr1.3 to pr1.0 :)22:56
thedead1440i hate you Jonni :p22:57
Jonnibut yes, 001 is the one that people should use22:57
@juicemeJonni, yes, there are exceptions but _generally_ that's true, for normal means :)22:57
@juicemeI can go back to 1.1 :) 22:58
thedead1440juiceme: you mean using ubiboot and another partition?22:58
@juicemebut it's not really that, only virtually :)22:58
@juicemeyes.22:58
@juicemeand even on same partition22:59
thedead1440how so on the same partition?22:59
@juicemejust tar -cvf your stuff on rootfs and home when booting to ubiboot maintanance console23:00
@juicemeyou can replace everything from archive taken from earlier release and it's exactly that. (except for your firmware, it'll continue to be PR1.3)23:01
thedead1440oh yes that's possible23:01
ToAruShiroiNekoso 001 is the version to aim for?23:01
@juicemewhat is your current release (that you are running now)23:02
thedead1440if you don't have an earlier backup it can be done by just taking a virgin image and extracting it then doing the tar23:02
@juicemeI suppose so, but I have not tried to extract the files from a packaged rootfs/emmc image23:03
thedead1440i use 0xFFFF for it thanks to Pali23:04
@juicemeI think those are not encrypted and it would be doable?23:04
@juicemeisn't that only for N900?23:04
thedead1440i've done the extraction of rootfs several times its easy and not encrypted23:04
@juicemeokay, can you give me a link?23:05
thedead1440nope the latest versions since >3months are with Harmattan support23:05
Jonniyou can extract from bin files quite easily23:05
thedead14400xFFFF -n -M rootfs.bin -u23:06
thedead1440Then use unlzo.py:23:06
thedead1440python unlzo.py /path/to/extracted/rootfs23:06
thedead1440then mount:23:06
thedead1440mount -t ext4 rootfs /mnt/point23:06
@juicemeok, will try that :)23:11
